Hello everyone –
It feels unnatural not to be in daily contact with our Staff, Ladies and Clients. Especially as lockdown stretches into it’s third month.
Like many people in Auckland, I have become a real homebody. I have experimented with heaps of new dinner recipes, baked endless cookies and cakes, (the bathroom scales are proof of this). Cleaned my house from top to bottom AND had time to read books and magazines I was saving for a “rainy day” (some dated back to 2012). I’ve even done some crocheting for the first time since I was at intermediate school!
Most people say this time has been different from the first lockdown. I have tried to look at the benefits. Spending quality time with both my adult children. I’ve wound down and caught up on years of sleep deprivation – had plenty of time to think – phoned my Mum on a daily basis – taught my daughter and her boyfriend to play 500 and learned a whole new vocabulary “covid 19, managed isolation, double jabs, daily updates, govt subsidy, delta, social distancing etc”.
I’ve given a lot of thought to why the World has been dealt the “Covid Blow”. In my opinion, something had to happen to bring us back to basics. For most people, life had become a mad rush, with little time to just “BE”. Before Covid, I can’t remember when I last woke up and thought to myself “what shall I do today?” What a luxury to do that most days now!
Even with all my philosophical thoughts, who would have thought we would be waiting so long to reopen our doors. There is only so much sitting at home we can do.
Come on Jacinda, let’s get moving! WE CANT WAIT TO BE ABLE TO SAY HELLO EVERYONE IN PERSON!
We are urging you all to Please get vaccinated. Time is ticking on but there’s still time for a second dose before Christmas.
